Not Every Video Goes Viral, Here Is What We Have Learned From the Ones That Did Not

We talk a lot about the videos that went well, because those are the exciting stories. Andreas Aspros reaching over half a million views. Farma Kouloumbri reaching almost a million. Kykko Bowling getting so busy they could not keep up. But honesty matters more to us than only sharing the wins, so let us talk about the other side of it.

Not every video is going to be a hit, and that is normal

Even with businesses that eventually had huge results, not every single video they posted reached hundreds of thousands of people. Some videos get a few hundred views. Some get a few thousand. This is completely normal, and it happens to every account, even ones that have already gone viral before.

Why this happens even when the content is good

Sometimes a video does not do as well simply because the topic was less interesting to a wide audience, even if it was still useful information. Sometimes the timing was not ideal. Sometimes the platform itself just does not push a particular video to as many people, for reasons that are not always clear even to the platforms themselves. This is part of working with social media, and no agency can control it completely.

What we do when a video does not perform

We do not throw the idea away immediately. We look at what was different about it compared to videos that did well. Was the hook weaker. Was the topic too broad or too narrow. Did it lack a real person talking directly to the camera. Most of the time, a lower performing video teaches us something just as useful as a video that goes viral.

Why we do not chase one big viral moment

Some agencies focus everything on trying to create one lucky viral video. We think this is the wrong goal. A single viral video that never happens again does not build a business. A steady pattern of videos that consistently bring in some attention, even without going viral every time, tends to build something much more reliable over months and years.

What this means if your own videos have not taken off yet

If you have tried video content and it has not gone viral yet, that does not mean it is not working, and it does not mean you should stop. Even the businesses with our biggest results had videos that did not perform as well along the way. What matters is whether you keep learning from each one and keep showing up consistently.
